When I say writing on the internet has become easier, I show it.
And lemme make this clear:
Writing easier doesn’t mean you’ll be like David Ogilvy.
It means writing a complete piece of content has become faster.
The research, the ideation, the drafting, etc.
But you still need to know the ins and outs of writing if you want to become a writer.
You have to play psychology, emotions, and manipulation.
AI cannot come up with those yet. But it can help you a lot in the process.
For example, writing drafts in seconds.
And you know what?
If you have a draft ready, you’re halfway done.
And here’s the thing…
The part most writers suffer from is either the idea or the first draft.
So… lemme help you with both of those.
Here’s the easiest way to write a draft:
My target, here, is LinkedIn. But…
You can rewrite these drafts as Twitter threads, Medium blogs, Substack publications, or anything else.
The goal is to find an interesting idea and write about it.
1: Get the Kleo Chrome extension.
It’s one of the best research tools if you’re on LinkedIn.
(And yes. It’s free and only available for Chrome)
Once you install it, let’s start researching and look for content ideas—the proven ones.
Lemme show you below…
2: Find content that performed well.
Well. Kleo is more of a LinkedIn research tool. And that’s what we’re up to.
Once you install it…
Open LinkedIn, and choose and open a profile whose content you like or resonate with you.
After, find and click on the Kleo button in the top right corner.
(Highlighted with a red circle)
I’m using my profile as an example here.
In there, you’ll see a search bar where you can type anything.
(Highlighted with a yellow box)
This will use the keyword you type and bring up related content from that account.
For instance, I typed “writing” and after seeing many posts, I chose one with the best performance.
Why best performance?
Because you know that idea can do well.
For example, this:
Now, what I prefer is highlighting the idea of the post.
The idea of this post is “Why creators leave LinkedIn?”
Or let’s make it clearer:
“What’s the reason behind creators leaving LinkedIn?”
Ok. We just needed an idea. Now time to find content.
Come and see this…
3: Open Perplexity to find content.
See. Perplexity is a research goldmine.
It’s got a lot of nerve to find content from almost any kind of source.
But how?
Let’s ask about the idea we just found.
Now that we have a bunch of related pieces of content, let’s choose one.
Now open the article and copy the entire text from there.
And then the fun part begins…
Copied? Perfect!
Now let’s create a draft.
4: Rewrite with My Ghostwriter GPT.
Here, we’re curating a draft out of that text by using the My Ghostwriter GPT.
(Click on the blue text above to open it)
All you have to do here is:
Open the GPT and paste the text you just copied.
The GPT will rewrite that entire text into a LinkedIn post draft like the one below.
Look at this:
Once again, keep this in mind:
I’ve branded this GPT as a LinkedIn post writer. But the copies it generates work for any kind of social platform.
Always format the output for any platform you’d like.
Ok ok. So far so good.
One last thing…
5: Tweak and format the post.
If you’re writing this for LinkedIn, I suggest you use Typegrow.
It’s a free post-editing and scheduling tool.
Just adding one more thing:
Tweak the output as much as you can.
A lot of people hate AI. The best thing you can do is to make it look genuine.
I know AI can only make the process easier. But you can make it better.
(Being genuine is less boring—too)
And btw, how do you make it genuine?
Tell me if you want an email explaining all that next week.
But first… I want to hear from you.
Talk to you soon,
– Sami 👋
This is a great instruction, easy to read and interesting too. I would love to know more how to make AI sound like me, more genuine. I currently just use any gen AI tool and ask it to sound more personal, less like AI generated content. Sometimes it work and sometimes not. Thanks a lot for putting this article together.
My God! You know a lot about these things!….actually, why shouldn’t you? It’s your business! I enjoyed reading you post but let me ask you: doesn’t the post for LinkedIn remain an existing one, only a bit tweaked by you and ChatGPT?
Does ChatGPT know plagiarism? I’m sure it does but it is clever enough to go around it.
In any case, it is always a pleasure to read your stuff, Samy! 👍🏻👍🏻
