Hey - Sami here.
Welcome back to Savvy Snack.
Today, I’ve come with a confession—content alone won’t grow your brand.
Well. I'm not saying it doesn’t work.
Content is the backbone of your brand. But you have to go beyond creating content to make it worth it.
Build your brand strategy.
If you don’t have a proper strategy, no amount of content can help.
I know because I have been there.
But now, I use ChatGPT to help me analyze my LinkedIn analytics and see where things are headed.
It’s helped me grow much faster.
Why it’s helpful? You can see what works better and what doesn’t.
Plus, I don’t have to pay for pricey tools.
I will show you how it can help you in this email.
Here’s a step-by-step breakdown:
Let’s start with getting the data first…
1. Download your LinkedIn data
LinkedIn allows you to download your analytics data. Even better, ChatGPT analyzes that data very well.
Just go to your profile page, and…
Scroll down until you see "See all analytics". Click it, and you'll see your analytics page.
Then click on "Post impressions" to open the data tab.
Choose any time frame and click on "Show results".
Finally, click "Export" to download the data.
(Look at this photo if you’re still unsure)
Once you download the data, do this next.
2. Separating the data
We have 4 sets of data in one file, and ChatGPT can’t read that.
So let’s separate them from one another.
Upload the file to Google Sheets—it’s free.
You will see 4 different tabs (look at the photo below). Click on each tab and download each one as a ".tsv" file.
Finally, you’ll have 4 separate files. That leads us to the last step.
3. Analyze your LinkedIn metrics with ChatGPT
Before uploading any file to ChatGPT, let’s train it on what to do.
Look at this prompt below.
I will be giving you 4 files of some data which I want you to analyze.
I will be giving you each file one by one and after I give you each file, I want you to analyze it.
I don't want you to generate anything yet. Just tell me "DONE" after you're done with analyzing a file. Then I will give you the next one until you get and analyze all 4 files. Finally, I will tell you "FINISHED" and that will mean we are finished with the files.
Then I want you to tell me "I AM ALSO DONE", and I will start asking you questions about them.
Did you get this?
Well. ChatGPT seems ready.
Now you need to upload each of the 4 files one by one.
Here’s how I did it:
ChatGPT has analyzed all the files and their data. You can now ask for any analytics you need.
For example, I asked for a few metrics.
Look at this prompt:
From the metrics on these files, give me the number of impressions, engagement, the URL for each post and the date each post was published on. Do this for posts that bring the most followers.
Make all this in a table.
I asked for each post’s views, URLs, likes, and the dates they were posted.
LinkedIn doesn’t show post dates. So, it’s easy to find out which day each post was published with ChatGPT.
There’s much more you can ask. For example:
I asked about the average engagement in a week to see which day got more engagement.
Show me the overall average engagement throughout a week in a bar graph.
The graph shows that most of my engagement comes from Tuesday and Wednesday.
Pretty clear, right?
Let’s see on which days I got more impressions.
Show me the average impressions throughout the week in a bar graph.
Looks like Tuesdays and Wednesdays got me more impressions too.
This works in many ways.
Ask for tips on growing, why some days are better, or compare impressions and engagement.
Do more of what works and less of what doesn’t.
Your profile analytics is always the most powerful part of your brand strategy.
Always watch it and make changes when needed.
P.S. Bookmark this email in your browser and use it as a guide later.
Quick question here…
Do you use anything else for your LinkedIn analytics?
I want to know.
Talk soon.
And see you in the next email.
Take care.

I've heard shield is good used by Justin Welsh. But Linkedin does a good job so I dont see the need to pay for one. In fact Taplio is specifically made for Linkedin- it gathers who engaged etc and all other relevant details. Mark Firth has a YouTube video on it if you want to see.
