I Use AI to Write Product Copies This Way...

In 2019, I was running an ecommerce brand.

I’d take care of the product photography, design, copywriting, social media, and all other stuff.

Since I was solo, I had to be faster doing all that.

Looking back, I think of the opportunities we have now.

You can delegate most of your work without even hiring someone—thanks to the tools available now.

Take writing for example.

You can use ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and other tools to have a full writing assistant.

Just like that, I tried to write a marketing copy with AI last week.

I tried and tested a lot. Some failed. Some passed.

But lemme show you how it all went…

Here’s all the breakdown below:

1: Ask ChatGPT to brainstorm.

If you’re writing a copy, you need 2 things:

• Persuading the reader.

• Writing a copy in a proper framework.

Let’s check out the persuasion first.

Use a prompt like this:

I want you to search the web and find all the necessary writing techniques that makes a writing persuasive to make a human do something.

Let’s keep this and go on by asking for a copywriting framework.

let’s use a prompt like this:

Now tell me what copywriting framework is better for convincing someone and explain that framework for me.

Works better right?

Since ChatGPT has backed up it’s understanding with where we’re headed, let’s ask for what we want now.

2: Write a product copy with ChatGPT

To start, we must have a product in mind already.

I’ll choose a facewash, for example.

Here’s the prompt I’ve made for that:

Now I want you to use this framework and the persuasion rules you mentioned above and write a copy for a facewash that is for men. Here's what kind of facewash this is:

It's a facewash for young men.
It works better for a tired face.
It helps in removing all the dirt from the face.
It make the skin smooth.

Try to follow all the techniques and rules you mentioned above.

Here’s how it all went…

The writing quality may not be that high, but I like how it starts the copy.

And as you may always hear…

If you can get the reader in the start, you’ll most probably have them thoughtout the whole copy.

But that still doesn’t mean AI is an all-in-one copywriter. I suggest you know the basics of copywriting, at least.

This way, you’ll be able to avoid anything extreme coming from AI.
