There’s a lot of talk about AI writing.
It’s all over the internet, but pretty intense on LinkedIn. (You must’ve seen those posts about em dashes)
The funny part is that people aren’t just bashing AI writing. They’re now bashing specific things like the word skyrocket or the use of em dash.
In fact, we’ve been using these for years.
They are part of writing. Well, of great writings.
And blaming them all just because some people are abusing it is like blaming Toyota just because someone was careless and had an accident with a Corolla.
Writing isn’t dead. Definitely not.
It just got a new part in it, AI. And now, it will be easier for many to write.
I don’t know if you come as a writer or a non-writer. I’d love to know.
I know one thing for certain:
AI will make writing a lot easier. Well, it already is.
And writing with AI isn’t just what a few guys discuss on LinkedIn. It’s what large corporations are into.
And a very good proof for that is this ad below:
It’s become an advertising masterpiece. And what’s interesting is that they themselves claimed they used AI to write the ad.
(See where the orange line is)
The question remains: what to do to get ready?
Well, I know none of us is a time traveller to fully predict the future. But we can understand that certain tools are only getting better at writing—mostly non-fiction.
Meaning? AI isn’t handling fiction that well for now.
First, it deals more with understanding humans. That can be writing based on stories and creativity.
Plus, fiction usually exists within human minds, which makes it untouched.
P.S. Have you seen the LinkedIn posts about em dashes?
